Not pictured: Graham, who opted out of this activity after he attempted to remove the lightbulb from the bedside light in Connor's room and blistered two of his fingers.  Not the brightest bulb in the box, so to speak.  He recovered, but it took a lot of cold water and snuggle/story time.  I hope this isn't your first memory, Graham.

We went back to Jacob Riis beach today, where the boys did some excellent digger hunting and made a new friend.

The boys and I took the ferry to Governor's Island this morning for our first trip there since Graham was 6 months old.  We slid the largest slide in NYC, tried out the hammocks, and ate ice cream truck ice cream.  Graham chose the "baby rattle" and Connor rainbow sprinkles.

With 5 rips and counting, it's time for a new couch!  Luckily, I had two handsome couch models to help me document the couch for reference during replacement couch shopping.

Jacob Riis beach day!  We started the day with some snuggles from our newly-free neighbor and then headed to the beach to look for diggers and get tackled by the waves.

Even 5-year-olds need a nap from time to time.  Graham doesn't usually sleep during naptime anymore, but when he does, it's impossible to get him up before he's had a good 2 hour snooze.

Connor played Star Wars at the beach today and made a "shooter" out of found objects.  "I shot that grown-up down!  I did it!"  Funny or troubling?  Both?

Another one bites the dust!  Graham lost his second tooth eating an apple at camp this morning.

Beach day!  We had plenty of time to take selfies while Connor took a 2.5 hour nap under a towel after an intensive wave session.

Big day at the beach today!  Connor turned a corner on his attitude towards the water and went from liking to get his knees down wet to playing full-body in the waves.

Looks like we brought 2 monkeys home from Cape Cod with us.

After a week sleeping in a big boy bed at the Cape, we didn't want to downgrade Connor to his crib, so after driving home, we piled back into the car and picked up a new Sniglar at IKEA.  Will and I each had enthusiastic helpers for bed/room prep, and then Connor took his new bed for a test drive.  Sold!

We went on a Mass Audubon "Aquatic Exploration Cruise" today.  The kids held a baby dogshark and tried their hand at fishing.  No keepers but the boys were excellent fishermen!  Oh, and there were some chocolate chip pancakes in there, too.

After a morning practicing the crawl in the kettle ponds with Grammy, Will and the boys went on a "pirate adventure" which involved searching for a "pirate" (college student) in the open seas and "firing cannon balls" (squirting water) at her.  After finding a treasure chest, the boys counted their loot before dinner.
