Graham plays with one of his new stoop sale finds. He thinks the point of the toy is to close the doors rather than open them using the various switches and buttons on the toy, but we're rolling with it. In addition to stoop-saling, Graham went to a sing-a-long today. The musician played "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" in honor of the Beatles onesie he was wearing earlier in the day!

Graham and Daddy rinse off the sand from today's trip to the beach, and Graham investigates the shower head. Note that Graham sticks his tongue out when concentrating just like his daddy.

Today was rainy and chilly, so we took a trip to the local library where Graham played with their toys, read a few books and watched a puppet show put on by Will Miller Productions, Inc.

Graham sucks on a peach. While he hasn't started solids yet, I can't help letting him share in some of the delicious summer peaches...so I think peach is his official first food.

Graham's first trip to the beach (assuming the shores of Lake Michigan count as a beach)! He didn't enjoy the surf but had a good time once we took him past the breaking waves. Thanks for sharing our first beach trip, Nana! Great to have you here.

The day after attending Aunt Sarah and Uncle Tim's beautiful wedding, we headed west to Douglas, Michigan, where we rented a beach house for 5 nights. In the early evening, Graham hung out on the porch with Daddy and Nana, watching the bubbles.
Graham mastered the front-to-back roll over the past couple days--now he almost always flips to his back within a couple minutes of being put on his stomach. Looks like involuntary tummy time has come to an end.

Congratulations, Beardy and Red! We are so happy for you and had a great, if teary, time at your wedding today.

Graham took his first swim in a big pool! Initially, he wasn't sure swimming was a great plan, but he warmed to it after a little bit. Later on, he attended his first rehearsal dinner and watched Daddy toast the bride and groom.

Day 1 of our trip to Michigan for Aunt Sarah's wedding and a vacation on Lake Michigan. Graham was pleasant but very busy on the flight and so had to take a nap with Daddy in the hotel room after we arrived.

While on the ferry over the weekend, Graham was standing on my knees and holding on to the back of the bench in front of us to keep his balance (the first time he has stood using a stationary object, rather than a person, for support), so we decided to give him a chance to practice that type of standing at home. He had a great time!
Graham has started recognizing and responding to his name!

Graham helped his parents get ready for a dinner party and then fell asleep on Daddy while listening to "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys. For some reason, that album has a very calming effect on him. We're considering adding it to his bedtime routine.

Graham was very happy to welcome Daddy home from his business trip this afternoon. Earlier in the day, we finished up my bout of single parenting by taking a ferry (Graham's first boat ride--he loved it) to Governor's island and having a picnic with Graham's friends and their parents. Great trip!

Graham had a great time commiserating with Violet about tummy time and practicing sitting with Max at playgroup this afternoon.

Graham is getting much better at sitting independently, though he still needs a waiting hand to catch him when he loses balance.

A day of goodbyes--first, Graham helped Daddy wait for his car to the airport in the early morning. Safe travels, Will. We miss you already!
Later in the afternoon, we said our farewells to Uncle Adam, Auntie Spice and Punch T. Cat. Sob. However, Graham is looking forward to lots of Texas BBQ in the future!

Today, Graham tried out his jumperoo (big hit, even though he doesn't know how to jump it yet) and had a laughing fit that was so adorable, it made both of his parents tear up.

Jennah and Eleanor came over to visit Graham today. Eleanor taught Graham many things about using his toys!
Graham has also been doing lots of giggling lately. Things that set-off the giggles: singing, dancing, tummy tickles, neck nuzzles and raspberries!
