Daddy supervised the filling of the pool for the season's first pool party, at Phoebe's house.  Graham impressed the other party guests (and his surprised parents) by eating a rabbit's worth of carrots and hummus.

2 years, 3 months/5 weeks, 5 days.

Graham and Noah played at the water table at Eric's house this afternoon.  Despite Graham's occasional shoves, Noah adores Graham and always wants to play with him.  Graham is at a strange stage of wanting to be with his friends and begging to see them, but then not wanting to play with them when he's at a playdate.  It's as if he knows that he could have fun playing with other kids but he just can't bring himself to share and interact with people who don't always play his games exactly as instructed (unlike, for example, his parents).

2 years, 3 months/5 weeks, 4 days.

Graham is a huge flirt.  He met a few older girls at the playground today and played duck-duck-goose with them (Graham didn't understand the rules at all) until it was time to leave for his haircut, at which point, he asked one for a kiss goodbye.  

Good-bye, beautiful strawberry blond locks!  Time for a summer cut!

Meanwhile, always along for the ride, Connor smiled smooshed up smiles in his carrier.

2 years, 3 months/5 weeks, 3 days.

Connor somehow managed to remain calm and peaceful despite the terrifying two-year-old building towers beside him (needless to say, this game came to an unfortunate end).

2 years, 3 months/5 weeks, 2 days.

Connor's schedule goes pretty much like this: sleep; wake-up; nurse; smile, coo, and squirm around very pleasantly for awhile; without warming, scream head off until rocked to sleep; rinse and repeat.

2 years, 3 months/5 weeks, 1 day.

Graham is more attached to his special blue blanket (pronounced more like "boo manket") than ever.  We're trying to explain to him that Connor's yellow blanket is his special blanket and therefore can't get sucked into the black hole of necessary items in Graham's crib (water bottle, 4 blankets, wolf tail from Halloween costume, countless stuffed animals, countless books).  So far, so good.

2 years, 3 months/4 weeks, 5 days.

Graham had an extended playdate with Bennett today while I took Connor to the doctor.  Graham was very excited about it, especially the part about taking a nap at Bennett's house.  He repeated the following over and over before heading over: "go Bennett house, eat lunch, take nap with blue blanket!"

2 years, 3 months/4 weeks, 4 days.

Graham spent the afternoon with Sam while Connor and I went to the city for Will's departure party.  Apparently, Graham was reading to Sam while they hung out in Sam's crib.  Farewell, Davis Polk & Wardwell!  In Will's words, although some of the days were long, the years were short.

2 years, 3 months/4 weeks, 2 days (aka, 1 month).

Happy 1 month birthday, Connor!  Connor went to the pediatrician today and did great on his weigh-in--9 lb, 11 oz, up more than 2 pounds in his first month!

2 years, 3 months/4 weeks, 1 day.

Connor met cousin Molly, Aunt Emily, and Uncle Bob today!  Thanks for coming up to visit, bearing the swing, dinner, and presents!  Graham had the best time playing with Molly and it was great to catch up with the grown-ups.

2 years, 3 months/4 weeks.

Today, Graham made felt pizzas at the Brooklyn Children's Museum while Connor smiled gassy smiles in his sleep.

2 years, 3 months/3 weeks, 6 days.

After a day of running around with his friends, Graham came home and took a bath with his baby brother.  Connor seems to like floating on his frog pillow and watching Graham in the tub.

Graham has started memorizing entire books (charming!) and yelling at the reader if that person reads a part he wants to say (not charming!).  He even does different voices for different characters.

2 years, 3 months/3 weeks, 4 days.

Graham colored with chalk and chatted with neighbors on our front stoop for over an hour this afternoon while Connor and I kept an eye on him. Graham's favorite part of the afternoon was when our downstairs neighbor, 4-year-old Lukas, came down to color with Graham.  Graham is really impressed with how fast and smart Lukas is and loves to imitate him.

2 years, 3 months/3 weeks, 3 days.

We made a very exciting trip to Target this morning, where Graham selected big boy pants for himself. Graham loves a couple books about underpants that he received recently (thanks Grammy and Uncle Michael!), so we decided to stock up for the day that he decides he wants to throw out the diapers and start wearing underpants instead.

2 years, 3 months/3 weeks, 2 days.

A perk of having Daddy home is that he stops by the Italian bakery for a coffee and sometimes also comes out with a cannoli.

2 years, 3 months/3 weeks, 1 day.

Connor has a cheery patch between mealtimes and naptimes (assuming he isn't plagued by unburbable burbs) during which I think we're starting to get the hint of some social smiles.

2 years, 3 months/3 weeks.

Graham is really enjoying the big brother present part of baby gifts.  Thanks Uncle Michael and Mona for the underwear book & bear!  Graham asked Connor if he would share the bear with him.  Connor agreed.

2 years, 2 months/2 weeks, 6 days.

All my boys in bed.  In the afternoon, we went to a party at the NY Kids Club, where Graham tasted his first marshmallow.  Not surprisingly, he liked it.

2 years, 2 months/2 weeks, 5 days.

Since Graham is monopolizing the nursery, we are trying co-sleeping with Connor.  So far, so good.  Connor seems to falls asleep for the night around 8 or so and wakes up for the day around 7, stirring to nurse every few hours during the night but otherwise not waking up.  It's pretty sweet to have baby snuggles all night.  

After getting very angry after his bath today, Connor put his dukes up and found his thumb!  Let's hope he doesn't lose it.  Let the self-soothing begin!  

2 years, 2 months/2 weeks, 3 days.

Graham turned washing up after painting into an activity in itself--he loved swirling the paints in the sink.  Meanwhile, Connor had a mid-morning snack.

Thanks for the fingerpaints, Nana!  Graham loves them so much he wakes up chanting, "Graham want it, fingerpainting, Mama!"

2 years, 2 months/2 weeks, 1 day.

Graham filled his day with big kid activities--his first abstract theater performance, a trip to the street fair  (complete with his first slide on the blow-up slide and corn on the cob), and some swinging.  Meanwhile, Connor snoozed.

2 years, 2 months/2 weeks.

Nana holds baby Connor for the first time!  Nana drove up from Philly to play with Graham while Will, Connor and I went out to brunch (luckily, Connor slept through brunch and did not steal any of our delicious Mimosas, Eggs Huntington, or Pecan Pie French Toast) and snuggle Connor during Graham's nap.  Thank you for the Irish onesie and great visit, Nana!

2 years, 2 months/1 week, 6 days.

Connor's first bath!  His umbilical cord fell off a few days ago and he got the all clear for sudsing up from the pediatrician.  He liked the warm water but did not care for the chilly towel or body oil rub-down after his bath.

Later, sparkly clean Connor and his big brother hung out on the stoop with Daddy.

2 years, 2 months/1 week, 5 days.

Graham's interest in style is developing, though his level of taste is still developing.

Connor is gaining weight like a champ--weighing in at 8 lb, 2 oz; up a half-pound since birth!

2 years, 2 months/1 week, 4 days.

Connor took his first trip to the park with Graham this afternoon, and then slept off the excursion.
