 Connor ate his weight in blueberries this weekend.  He spent a lot of time thoughtfully sorting his food, moving bites from his tray to the edge of the table to his mouth.  He likes sorting in general right now, putting toys in and out of buckets and that type of activity.

Connor didn't really know what to make of the carousel.

Graham helped Malcolm install the grate on our new furnace cover this afternoon.  He's been very interested in the whole construction process and brings out his musical toolbox to show the carpenters when they're around.

After Malcolm left, Graham discovered Marlon asleep in his bed and was very excited to take a nap with him...though he was too excited to actually fall asleep.

Happy Memorial Day!  The sprinklers are on!  Graham did a little sprinkler sipping with Hazel, Phoebe, and Sam at a BBQ at Phoebe's house today while Connor tried to sneak his first beer.  Connor is walking more and more and can walk across a room, though he got stuck in the middle of the sprinklers at the park and needed to get rescued this morning.

Today, we went to Ruben's "Ruben Hood" birthday party, complete with horses (a pony called "Chocolate Chip") and (styrofoam) sword fighting.  Graham was excited to ride Chocolate Chip and didn't need any help staying on.

We took a family trip to the Natural History Museum today.  Graham tried out the flight simulator in the Pterosaurs exhibit and went to the "Dark Universe" space show at the Planetarium with Daddy.  They had to leave the show early because Graham got concerned about hearing the Big Bang.  Will had to field some challenging questions afterwards, like what a light-year is.

Despite threatening rain, Graham and Honor had a fantastic time in Prospect Park digging in the sand and scaling mulch mountains before walking back to Honor's house for lunch.  Graham and Connor needed a "silly bath" (aka, a bath at a time other than bath time) before nap time to recover from the morning.  When I unsnapped Connor's onesie, a pile of sand fell out.  Looks like summer has come.

Graham's preschool took a field trip to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens today, where Graham held worms and Connor posed in front of a field of bluebells.

Graham is very into wearing his dinosaur shirts right now.  He has a very specific order of preference that seems to reflect which dinosaurs look the most friendly.  He likes us to make them talk and tell him how excited they are to play with him, go to school with him, etc.  Thank you Grammy and Nana for supplying a week's worth of dinosaur shirts for Graham to choose from!

Graham and Connor took turns driving the Radio Flyer around JJ Byrne this morning before meeting up with Bennett and Harry.

Graham practiced his farmhand skills with Daddy at the Prospect Park Zoo Fleece Festival today.  I came home from my night away to two happy kids and one champion husband.  Connor seemed unfazed by our first night apart and did fine drinking from a bottle, though he went straight back to nursing when I came home.  Thank you Will!

As I attended a baby shower in DC, Will dined out with these two dates.

Graham and Connor enjoyed their weekly playdate with Honor and Gil this morning.  Just before bath time, Graham snuck in a little solo reading time.  He's reading Another Monster at the end of this Book.  I tried to read him The Monster at the end of this Book earlier today, but he was so scared about encountering the monster, he wouldn't let me read it to the end.  Elmo's presence in the sequel makes it less scary to him.

Graham and Connor were excited to see our friends Jacob and Lily at the playground this afternoon.  They all spent a very happy hour in the sandbox.  Connor only ate a little sand.  We're finally getting to the point where we know enough people in the neighborhood that we often run into buddies at the park, which is so great for everyone.

During a before-school stop at the playground, we ran into a Sesame Street filming!  Connor, Klara, and Graham watched Murray the muppet filming a bunch of "word of the day" segments.  Luckily, no one seemed too interested in or concerned by the two puppeteers controlling Murray.

The boys are loving the fresh clean sand at our neighborhood park sandbox.

Graham discovered a train set in our stairwell and assembled it on the roof with the help of our neighbor Ella.

Back in Brooklyn, Connor and Harry unpacked purses and Graham played at the train table outside a neighborhood toy shop.

The cousin count is up to 5, together for the first time.  L to R, Graham, Connor, Sawyer, Molly, and baby Claire.

Connor continued trying new foods (corn on the cob) and practicing walking while Graham and Molly had a blast playing hide & seek and blowing bubbles.  Graham had his first no-parent sleepovers at Nana's house while Will, Connor, and I slept at Emily & Bob's house.  He was very excited on Friday night but got pretty sad when he saw us driving away Saturday night, though he rallied and was fine overnight.  Thank you for having us, Nana, Uncle Bob, and Aunt Emily!  So great seeing everyone!

We trekked to Carroll Park this afternoon to have a balloon sword fight with Sam.

April showers bring May flowers!  After a very rainy end to April, May 1 turned out to be the perfect day to try out Connor's new water table with Annika and Klara.
