Happy Easter!  Graham was too busy eating the contents of his Easter basket to smile for a picture, but he enjoyed his presents.  Special thanks to Nana and Grammy for helping to fill it!  Graham's favorites are the Peter Rabbit book from Nana and the bunnies from Grammy.  After opening his Easter basket and hunting for eggs, Graham snuggled up to watch a few minutes of "The Sound of Music," Will's Easter present to me.  Graham liked "How to Solve a Problem like Maria."

Graham happily filled all 2 dozen of the eggs we brought to our playgroup Easter Egg Hunt this morning and then hunted for eggs with his buddies at a local playground.  His basket is holding up fine despite a week of very heavy use--thanks Grammy!

Graham and Sam are making the best of the still-lion-y March weather.

Graham seems to know that his baby brother's birth day is coming up.  While in the stroller today, I listened to him having the following discussion with himself: "Go to baby brother party.  Sing happy to you.  Graham eat cake."  So, we plan to introduce Graham to his baby brother by singing the birthday song and eating cake.  Works for everyone!

Graham had a big day today.  First, Daddy took him to Families First for the Easter celebration, where he wore a bunny headband, played with Noah, and apparently took home the prize for best egg collector at the egg hunt.  Then, he went to Norah's animal-themed birthday party, which featured puppets, giant blow-up animals, and a "safari hunt" through the Kidville gym.

Claudine and I took Graham and Eliana to the new playground at the Brooklyn Bridge Park this morning, but they just wanted to walk the "balance beam" by the water.  Graham is carrying Duckie, his rubber duck, and kept wanting to throw him into the East River for a swim.

Bennett, Eliana, and Graham before art class.  Graham loves his friends and if I ask him if he wants to go play with his friends, he asks "who dat friends?" (aka, which friends--he is not great with picking the correct pronoun) and then gives me his thoughts on whether he wants to play with whoever we are going to see.  He always wants to play with B & E, who are always up for a chase!

Graham spent at least an hour fishing this afternoon.  He loved getting the fish into his boat (aka crib) and throwing them back out again.  We had a few minor breakdowns about Mama not understanding instructions--like catching the big blue fish instead of the small one--but for the most part, this was a great activity.

Graham added food coloring to playdough that he helped make in the sensory lab at the Brooklyn Children's Museum.  He impressed us by being able to identify which container was the flour, which the salt, and which the cream of tartar.  Guess all that "helping" around the kitchen is paying off!

One of the kids in Graham's playgroup is going through a very unfortunate, and unfortunately long, mean stage, characterized by a lot of hitting, pushing, and snatching.  I was proud of Graham at today's playgroup--instead of hitting back or crying when attacked, he told this kid, "No hitting! Not nice!" and similar things.  Less appropriately, but more hilariously, when the trouble-maker's mom asked him if they needed to go home, Graham said "Yes!"

Sam said he wanted to "pee pee in the potty" today, and of course, Graham wanted in on the fun.  Unfortunately, it was a false alarm all around.  The boys seem aware of what's going on with potty business, but not interested in getting rid of diapers just yet.

Graham was so excited to see Nana, cousin Molly and his aunts and uncles today!  Thanks for making the trip--it was great to see you all.  Graham has asked for Molly every couple days since his birthday party ("more chase Molly!") and after his nap today, announced "Graham sad Molly go home."  Please come back and visit again soon.

Double feature birthday party day!  At Eliana's party, Graham had a batman mask painted on his face and danced up a storm at the puppet show/sing-a-long.  At Katherine's party, Graham ate his weight in sugar and fed Eric floor candy.

Graham, Sam, and Bennett had a fantastic time playing chase around the EleFun game this afternoon.  None of them understand the butterfly/net concept at all, but that doesn't seem very important.

We're in the heart of birthday season.  At Maddie's party today, Graham had pizza and cake and got his first tattoo, all before noon.

Graham took his first trip to the Prospect Park Zoo today!  His favorite parts were feeding the goats, watching the sea lion show, and checking out the peacocks at the aviary.  It's amazing how much more engaged he was in the zoo on this trip than on our last zoo trip, 6 months ago in Chicago.
