2 years, 2 months/1 week, 3 days.

Will makes an exception to his usual no-nap policy for the newborn days.

2 years, 2 months/1 week, 2 days.

Graham held Connor for the first time today.  While Graham's been pretty crabby since Connor's arrival, due, I'm sure to all the changes around him, he doesn't seem to blame Connor, and, in fact, has been very sweet with him.  He wants to tuck in Connor, asks what he's up to ("Baby Connor drink milk, Mama?"  "Why Connor so sad?"), picks out his clothes, etc.

Connor has blown his birth weight out of the water and is up to 7 lb, 14 oz!

Welcome home, baby Connor!  After 8 days in the NICU, we were all very excited to get out of there.  We showed Connor to Graham while he was sleeping.  Graham was very interested and wanted to tuck him in. (Thank you for the beautiful blanket, Grammy!  Graham already knows it's Connor's special blanket.)  We then sang happy birthday to Connor (Graham blew out the candle for him), had cake, and Graham opened a present from Connor (the witch from the Wizard of Oz, to complete his set of Wizard of Oz guys).  So far, so good.

Connor is still in the NICU but out of the lights at last.  He seems snug as a bug in a rug in his bassinet. The NICU gets to break all the rules about blankets, sleeping on the tummy, etc. since the babies are hooked up to monitors.

Zoo and Jane's Carousel v. bililights.  I think it's safe to say Graham had a better day than Connor.

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

2 years, 2 months/5 days.

Still in the NICU.  The one saving grace of this situation is that Connor is a champion nurser, so we haven't had an issue with him coming out from under the bililights to nurse every few hours.

2 years, 2 months/4 days.

Graham is pretty confused about why I keep "going to the doctor" and wonders where the baby in my tummy went, but seems to be making the best of the situation.

Monday, April 22, 2013

2 years, 2 months/3 days.

Connor took a quick break from the bililights for a nurse from Mama and a burp from Daddy.

Thank you Nana, for spending the last 3 days with Graham and allowing us this time with Connor!  We hope he will be up for visitors very soon.

2 years, 2 months/2 days.

Today was a pretty confusing day for everyone.  Connor spent the day in the NICU under a million bililights and Graham found a ruby slipper at the park but couldn't find Dorothy to return it to, despite making inquiries of all the girls.

Welcome to the world, Connor James Miller!  7 lb, 10 oz, 19 inches, blue eyes, and a smattering of reddish hair, arrived at 8:55 am at Long Island College Hospital.  We love you so much.

114 weeks.

Last family picture as a family of three during bedtime tonight.  I was in labor when we put Graham to bed, with Nana driving up to take over while the baby made his appearance.

113 weeks, 5 days.

Graham has suddenly figured out how to climb the ladders at the park!  Probably not coincidentally, we found him outside his crib for the first time this morning--he had climbed out of the crib onto the top of his changing table, which is adjacent to the crib.  It looks like it's time to start shopping for a big boy bed.

113 weeks, 4 days.

Graham and Eliana had a play/dinner date this afternoon.  They played amazingly nicely together--I think Graham's shift from parallel to collaborative play has really helped out their relationship, since Ellie is a year older and a year further along with that sort of development.

112 weeks, 6 days.

Today was Graham's last day of preschool class with Miss Annie and Miss Erin.  Next week, he switches to preschool class with Miss Brittany and Miss Erin.  Good-bye Banana Dance!  We'll miss you.

112 weeks, 5 days.

Graham was very excited to master the wobbly bridge at the playground today!

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

112 weeks, 4 days.

It's suddenly 80 degrees!  We celebrated by taking our first trip to the Pier 6 sandbox today, where Graham and Eric played happily with a few shovels, buckets and backhoes for hours.  When I took off his shoes & socks and he first felt the sand, Graham started laughing at the strange feeling and wiggling his toes.

Thanks for the spring gear, Nana!  Graham loves his new t's.

112 weeks.

Noah loves to push Graham around on the park toys and have races.  Getting two 2-year-olds on board with the same game simultaneously isn't always easy, though.

Note that Graham isn't wearing a coat!  Spring is finally here!

111 weeks, 3 days.

Graham strolled his alligator to the park today.  He was a little worried about an alligator attack ("alligator no eat Graham"), but after I reminded him that alligators prefer Captain Hook, he seemed to feel safe.
