41 weeks, 5 days.

We returned from Dallas just in the nick of time to host music class. Graham's first taste of Christmas music!

Graham has figured out a bunch of hand tricks--clapping (he will often clap to "If you're happy and you know it..."), waving (sometimes delayed), and the high five. He is also much more investigative than he was just a couple weeks ago--crawling fast, pulling up to standing on everything, pulling books out of book shelves, and, of course, attacking the cats' water and food dishes.

Daddy had to leave Dallas early for business, so Graham flew in his stead today (meaning, Graham used Will's ticket to guarantee us two seats on each flight). Graham has now completed 12 flights!

Graham explores some unfamiliar luxuries, such as a dishwasher, found in the Mathes-Shulman home and tries out the zipline at the park down the street.

Auntie Spice helped Graham say hello (aka chase) Punch T. Cat.

Uncle Adam taught Graham a few tunes this afternoon.

Happy belated Thanksgiving! We celebrated with Uncle Adam, Auntie Spice, Dawson and Rose in Apryl & Adam's amazing new Dallas home. The day after Thanksgiving, Graham went Christmas tree shopping for the first time. I think he made an excellent choice.

Graham hosted playgroup today. Suddenly, nearly all the babies are mobile and uncontainable. Marlon continues to be a glutton for punishment and plant himself in the middle of the pile of babies.

Speaking of Marlon, yesterday, Graham said "jitty" when Marlon walked up to him. Unclear if it was an attempt at saying "kitty" or just his usual chitchat, but it was certainly appropriate in the context.

Happy birthday Molly! Graham had his best first-night-of-sleep-away-from-home ever at his cousin Molly's house last night, and then took a sychronized nap with the birthday girl this morning. He had a great time at the party attacking Molly's balloons, eating her baked ziti, and playing with her new toys.

Graham, Will and I took the train down to Philly this afternoon for Molly's birthday party. Graham was in great spirits for the train ride, though he barely containable now that he's so mobile. Looking forward to next week's flight to Dallas....

Graham, Sam and Mike Vick take a nap together.

Today is Graham's "Inside-Out" day--his age is the same as his gestational age at birth.

Crawling has really clicked for Graham. He uses his new-found skill of sitting up to make 3 point turns while on a crawling mission.

39 weeks, 3 days.

Graham conducted a science experiment from his high chair this evening--dropping a lid off the edge of his chair over and over and observing where it rolled.

Graham had his 9-month appointment today. His numbers look great--he is 29" tall (75 percentile), weighs 21 lbs, 8 oz (66 percentile) and has a head circumference of 46.5 cm (81 percentile). He couldn't get his shots today because he is running a low fever, which seems to be related to tooth #5's appearance. Hopefully that tooth will leave him alone tomorrow. He was a pretty sad little guy today, at least until I picked up some ibuprofen for him after his doctor's appointment.

Me and Graham modeling the "Mama Coat," which should keep us both warm and snuggled up this winter.

Friday, November 11, 2011

39 weeks (aka 9 months).

Happy 3/4 of a year birthday, Graham! Since starting swim class 2 weeks ago, Graham has been flipping over in the tub and splashing up a storm. He takes this flipping skill to the changing table, as well--he is virtually impossible to change or dress right now.

38 weeks, 5 days.

For some reason, stacks of blocks really made Graham laugh today. He would start laughing when I built a stack and then crack himself up even more when he delicately took off the top block.

38 weeks, 3 days.

Graham is really working on cruising right now. He circles his musical table over and over and tries to lunge for destinations a couple feet away, though, luckily, he hasn't actually attempted any unsupported steps yet.

Other new skills: Graham is waving (sometimes) and has figured out how to get into a sitting position from lying down.

38 weeks.

Graham on the attack! For better (cheese, apples) or worse (shoulders, nipples), Graham bites pretty much everything these days.

Penny joined me and Graham for the afternoon. Graham was asleep when she arrived and was overjoyed to discover he had a visitor.

Music class! Graham has another babbling sound--"bababababa."

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

37 weeks, 4 days.

Graham is getting harder to photograph now that he can attack the camera.
In addition to the crawling, he is doing a little bit of cruising and gets himself into sticky situations constantly. A particular area of interest for Graham is the cats' water bowl.

Graham is also making headway in the language department--he started babbling ("mamamamama") a couple weeks ago and is suddenly much more interested in reading books. He will now happily listen to a few board books in a row and seems to be trying to figure out the pictures much more than he was just last week.
