28 weeks, 5 days.

Graham soundly rejected yesterday's dinner of green beans and carrots, so I decided to revisit some old favorites for dinner tonight--avocado and banana. These went over much better.

Graham enjoyed the beautiful weather today at the park. He is also getting better at standing while holding onto surfaces.

28 weeks, 3 days.

Graham helped with the laundry this afternoon (only fair since he was the reason for an emergency laundry run). He also tried a carrot puree for the first time and found it quite delectable.

28 weeks, 1 day.

Graham took advantage of some pre-Irene dry weather to take a trip to the swings. Later on, he demonstrated his qualifications for joining the circus by eating his feet and riding on Daddy's shoulders.

28 weeks.

Graham enjoyed his zucchini today--I think the trick may be feeding him his green veggies first, before the more scrumptious portions of the meal (sweet potatoes! apples!). Earlier in the day, we saw Auntie Mac. Graham was mesmerized by her in the wedding dress (as will be Jim and all the wedding guests in a couple weeks). Fingers crossed that Auntie Mac makes it back to NC and that those of us stuck in NYC weather Irene safely!

Welcome home, Daddy!

New food of the day: zucchini. Graham gave it a C-.

27 weeks, 4 days.

Graham survived today's earthquake without a scratch (and without being woken from his nap). Other activities of the day: sing-a-long, trip to the community garden, swings, playtime with his buddy Sam, and a tasty dinner of green beans and banana. Unlike yesterday, he ate the green beans without crying.

Graham and Daddy enjoy a dinner of sweet potatoes, apple and plum together.

27 weeks.

Lulled to sleep by the trusty Beach Boys, Graham took a snooze while driving up to Smith to watch Aunt Sarah get hooded. Congratulations, Sarah!

Graham enjoyed a trip to the swings this morning. On today's menu: avocado and sweet potato.

26 weeks, 5 days.

This time around, Graham figured out the mesh feeder. He sucked down 1/4 of an avocado in 5 minutes flat.

26 weeks, 4 days.

New food of the day: avocado! We used the mesh feeder since the pieces were too slippery for him to grab, but he didn't seem to get the concept of the feeder.

I returned from Utah just in time to take Graham to the pediatrician for his 6-month check-up. Graham is doing great: 27.6 inches (85%); 17 lb, 11 oz (54%) and 44.5 cm head circumference (70%). The doctor describes him as looking like a tiny football player, which I think is about right.

He has mastered the back-to-front roll and got up on all fours for a split second today!

Daddy got a little worried today when he couldn't find Graham anywhere.

Fortunately, Graham emerged with a peakboo and an explanation of object permanence.

He then showcased one of his pieces from his upcoming performance art installation scheduled for MoMA this fall.

Daddy here, guest-blogging as Mommy flies to Snowbird for her Dad's wedding (congrats Granddad!). Graham had a big day of culinary delights. First, he tried a bit of Marlon, which was a bit gamey...

...and then he tried some plum, of which he was at first skeptical...

but then grew to enjoy!

Happy half-birthday Graham! We celebrated by taking a dip with Penny.

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

25 weeks, 5 days.

After an exciting day of book learning and walking around the neighborhood, Graham had another delicious meal of sweet potato and banana, which was quickly chased by a bath by Grammy.

Tuesday, August 9, 2011

25 weeks, 4 days.

Graham tried some banana (baby-led weaning style) and then hung out with his buddy Sam.

Monday, August 8, 2011

25 weeks, 3 days.

Graham practiced his fine motor skills (note the bead on the bed) and then entertained his great aunt and uncle.

25 weeks, 1 day.

Sitting well, 2 teeth, grabbing at any food within reach and 5 days shy of his half-birthday: I don't think we can delay solids any longer! We gave Graham a little sweet potato thinned with breastmilk. He seemed interested and had fun with it, but I don't think he understood that he was supposed to swallow. Maybe next time.

25 weeks.

Daddy snuck out of work early to meet me and Graham for a drink.

Thursday, August 4, 2011

24 weeks, 6 days.

Graham revisited his favorite swings today with his friend Bella, whose mom took this video of him. We also made a trip to Brooklyn's closest thing to a mall and, while in the dressing room at Old Navy, I discovered that Graham has a second tooth!

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

24 weeks, 5 days.

Graham got a new toy today! It will be a toy box until he's ready to use it as a walker. He also had a big trip to Manhattan to help Auntie Mac get her wedding dress fitted--but of course we cannot reveal the dress until the big day. While at the dress fitting, Mac's mom noticed that Graham looks at me when he hears "Momma." Very exciting that he's starting to comprehend a little of what he hears!!

24 weeks, 4 days.

Graham is holding a teething ring...because he cut his first tooth!!! Front bottom right, just barely peeping out. He also rolled from back to front for the first time this morning! He only showed that trick to Daddy, so I'm hoping he'll pull it out again soon for me to see.

Monday, August 1, 2011

24 weeks, 3 days.

Graham hung out with Marlon and then tried swinging for the first time. He laughed the entire time he was in the swing; I think he liked it.
